Bansra Birangana Seva Samity (BBSS) is a grass root level non-profit organization working to prevent child and women trafficking in South 24 Parganas and fake watches adjoining blocks of Sundarban. We are currently working on community-based rehabilitation for the trafficked survivors. To rehabilitate, we assist them to physical and mental treatment, linking them with various types of government schemes, working with them in their legal process, prepare them to fight for their victim compensation and we also conduct awareness camp with the villagers to get rid of social stigma. In this way, we have with us 4 survivors’ Self Help Groups (SHG) including Swabhumi, Matribhumi, Muktangana and Mohini under Canning sub division. 

BBSS has also formed a survivor’s leadership group named ICON with 16 survivors of Canning-I, Canning-II, Basanti and Baruipur block.
