Change Story-1
Rekha Khatun, a 17-year-old from Bhangore, faced trauma and depression after being trafficked. Her family, led by her father, a daily laborer, couldn’t support her, leaving her isolated. However, BBSS intervened, providing mental health treatment, family counseling, and community awareness campaigns. Rekha joined ICON survivor groups and re-enrolled at Bodra Balika Bidyalaya, focusing on her studies. Leadership programs empowered her, and her family’s acceptance grew. Now stable, Rekha advocates against trafficking, facilitates adolescent groups, and accesses government services. With resilience and community support, Rekha overcame adversity, reducing stigma and finding peace.
